The Clermont City Council unanimously approved its 2025-26 fiscal year budget Monday. The beginning fund balance on July 1, 2025, is estimated at approximately $1.13 million, while the ending balance on June 30, 2026, is projected at $1.01 million.

An increase in property tax levy net revenues is projected to be collected under the approved budget from the re-estimated fiscal year 2024 budget of approximately $279,900 to approximately $287,705 for the next fiscal year.

The proposed fiscal year 2025-26 property tax levy was approved during the April 7 council meeting. The approved levy includes an estimated property tax asking of $14.26 per $1,000 taxable valuation. The tax asking is a decrease of 0.18 per 1,000 from the current fiscal year.

Later, the council named Mike Boleyn as interim Clermont city superintendent until someone is hired to replace former superintendent Brian Schroeder, who submitted his resignation at the April 7 council meeting.

Additional information from Monday’s meeting will be published in next week’s Union.
