Buchanan County Relay for Life want to say thank you to everyone who purchased a bunch, in a vase or the dainty daffs again this year. Because it seems the fight against cancer never ends. When they think they have a cure, cancer shows back up just a little meaner and nastier. And that’s why cancer research needs the funding to continue.
It always brings a smile to me when we begin selling daffodils each year as people know who we are and what we are selling and they want to be a part of something that will make a difference to so many.
As we begin planning for this year’s Relay For Life event, we will be sending invites to everyone we know here in the county who has had cancer or are fighting for their lives right now. You are the reason we continue to do all we can to help in the fight. As we go around and deliver the daffodils all around the county, we hear the stories of family and friends you know who are affected by cancer.
But we also see the smiles on your faces when you receive your daffodils and know there is something special about the first flower of spring.
If you are a cancer survivor and would like to receive a survivor t-shirt and be a part of the Relay on Friday, June 13, visit , and click on survivors/caregivers, or call 1-800-227-2345 and select option 2.
Again, thank you all and we hope to see you all on June 13 and hear this year’s survivor speaker Jacquie McTaggart share her journey through cancer.
