INDEPENDENCE – For the past several years the Fraternal Order of Eagles has assisted Operation Threshold to make sure no child wakes up Christmas morning and not have a present for them to open. This is another one of the things we can do to help others and we invite anyone who has found that this year there is no extra money for the kids presents.
On Wednesday afternoon, from 12 until 6 p.m. the door will be open at First Presbyterian Church, located at 115 6th Avenue NW, for you to come and pick out some toys for your children. And we want you to know there are no questions asked, only your name and number of children and their ages. We only ask this so we can better plan for next year.
