Indpendence’s Addison Lange has 39 goals and 62 assists heading into her senior season. She has committed to play for the University of Northern Iowa.

Addison Lange has always been a competitor. A multi-sport athlete, she has been a driving force for the Independence girls’ soccer team for the past three years. On Monday, she made her commitment official March 17 to play at the University of Northern Iowa for the next four.

“I’ve wanted to play college soccer since I was about eight years old,” Lange said. “I love this game and I love competing.”

Lange is a three-time WaMaC first-team all-conference selection and was named WaMaC East Division Player of the Year in 2024. She racked up several postseason accolades, including an Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association Class 2A All-State honorable mention selection, an Iowa Girls Coaches Association (IGCA) All-State team selection, and an IGCA Central District selection.

The now-senior led the Mustangs in goals scored (15) and was fifth in the state among all classes in assists (24).

“I chose (UNI) because I really liked the coaches and atmosphere (of the team),” Lange said. “It’s also closer to home so I can see my parents and sisters.”

An attacking midfielder and three-year team captain, Lange is looked to as a threat on both ends of the field her final season. She has 39 goals and 62 assists and has closed each season in the top-10 of assists in the state.
