Multiple drug charges after traffic stop

A Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop at approximately 6:45 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in the 15,000 block of Highway 150, on a vehicle the local sheriff’s office had a search warrant for.

After an investigation, Dustin John Severson, 41, of St. Lucas and Zachary Scott Willie, 32, of Cresco were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance third offense methamphetamine, a class D felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Severson was additionally charged with operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.

During the traffic stop, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office additionally executed a search warrant at Severson’s St. Lucas residence, where illegal substances and paraphernalia were found and seized.

Severson was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance third offense methamphetamine, a class D felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Severson and Willie were taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where they awaited initial appearance.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office, West Union Police Department, and Fayette Police Department.

Arrested on warrant

A Fayette man was arrested on a valid Bremer County arrest warrant Tuesday, March 11. According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Michael David Alderson, 43, was arrested and transported to the Fayette County jail, where he awaited extradition to Bremer County.

Willful injury

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was notified at approximately 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, of an assault that took place at 115 Rich St. in Maynard. The victim had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle to be treated for her injuries.

Upon further investigation, Joseph G. Kane, 26, of Maynard was charged with willful injury, a class D felony. Bond was set in the amount of $10,000 cash only.

In addition, Kane was charged with asault and violation of a no contact order, both simple misdemeanors. Bond was set in the amount of $1,000 cash for these two warrants.

Kane was being held in the Fayette County Jail.

Trespass call

Fayette County Sheriff deputies were dispatched at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, to a trespass call in the 11000 block of K Avenue, Fayette. Upon arrival, a deputy was informed that two men were crawling around the yard.

After further investigation, Andrew Scott Lien, age 37, of West Union was placed under arrest for possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia, trespass, first offense; interference with official acts.

Lien was transported to the Fayette County Jail, where he was held until his initial appearance. He was later released on bond.
