Officials from the Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District announced in a press release that Brady Weber, the current associate principal at the high school, has accepted an offer to serve as Waverly-Shell Rock’s next high school principal.
“Weber has been an integral part of the Waverly-Shell Rock learning community since 2016, initially serving as high school associate principal alongside Principal David Fox,” officials stated in the press release. “During Weber’s tenure, he has been instrumental in developing initiatives that support both academic and personal growth for our students. His efforts have included enhancing our facilities, creating supportive environments for at-risk students, and fostering a culture of innovation and learning.”
Weber previously worked at Stilwell Junior High School, where, officials explained, he initiated the first full Project-Based Learning team in Iowa and has been “a passionate advocate for educational excellence.”
Weber stated in the press release he was excited about the new leadership role he will embark on in 2025-2026 school year.
“I am honored and humbled to step into the role of principal at Waverly-Shell Rock High School. We have incredible students, staff and families, and I’m excited to grow and learn alongside them,” Weber stated in the release. “There is something truly special about being a Go-Hawk, and I look forward to carrying forward the legacy of excellence and pride that makes every day a great day to be a Go-Hawk!”
W-SR CSD Superintendent David Hill stated Weber impressed the selection committee.
“Our interview teams were impressed with Mr. Weber’s energy, commitment, enthusiasm and passion,” stated Hill in the press release. “We’re excited about the leadership and vision he brings and look forward to the continued success and achievements of our students under his guidance.”
Weber’s official hiring is pending approval from the W-SR CSD Board of Education. If approved, he will officially begin duties on July 1, 2025. Weber will succeed Principal David Fox, who will retire on June 30 following a successful career in leadership within the district.
