Construction crews are conducting tests to prepare for the new Bremer Avenue bridge.
Crews have begun drilling test shafts to confirm soil conditions below, according to a social media post from the Waverly Chamber of Commerce. This will allow the workers to pour future shafts appropriately and ensure a solid foundation for the new bridge.
Waverly businesses on both sides of the river remain open despite the bridge closure, and community members can take alternate routes to get to the other side of town on either Cedar Lane or Cedar River Parkway.
