DISTRICT COURT

Nathan A. Redman, 36, Omaha, Nebraska, who formerly listed residences in Waverly, Tripoli, and Parkersburg had probation revoked March 4, on sentencing for the following convictions:

• theft-second degree, a class D felony, for theft of a motor vehicle valued less than $10,000 from a discount store in Denver, and criminal mischief-second degree, D felony, both for events on May 23, 2023. For each, residential placement is imposed on a three- to five-year sentence.

• possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, along with possession of a controlled substance-second offense (marijuana) for events June 29, 2022. Again, residential placement is imposed on what are respectively three- to five-year, and two-year sentences.

• assault causing bodily injury or mental illness for events March 24, 2022, with a $430 fine, an Iowa Abuse Program and one to two years in residential placement imposed.

• driving while license denied or revoked for events May 26, 2023, and Feb. 5, 2022. One to two years’ residential placement imposed on the Feb. 5, 2022 count.

• operating while intoxicated — first offense for events Nov. 29, 2021. A $1,250 fine is imposed and a two-year sentence is “partially suspended†with residential placement imposed.

• theft-third degree on Feb. 11, 2022, over $62-$63 in gas. One to two years of jail suspended with probation.

Fines and prison sentences suspended — with or without probation — are not mentioned here for brevity.

MAGISTRATE COURT

Ryan C. Franck, 42, Cresco, pleaded guilty to driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor, for events Nov. 27, 2024. Franck was sentenced on March 6 to serve 10 days in jail and pay $125 court costs. An $855 fine and $128.25 surcharge is “imposed but suspended.â€

Gail Williams, 53, Fredericksburg, pleaded guilty to harassment-third degree, a simple misdemeanor, for events July 15, 2024. Williams was sentenced on Feb. 18 to serve five days in Bremer County Jail with credit for time served, and to pay $380.25 in costs. A no-contact order with the victim is continued for one year.

Hannah M. Richards, 26, Sumner, pleaded guilty to two counts of fifth-degree theft, simple misdemeanors, for events on Jan. 20. In a deferred judgement on March 7, Richards was ordered to pay a $105 civil penalty on each count (so $210), $148.50 restitution to the Waverly Walmart, attorney fees and $60 court costs.

Dillion K. Schweer, 22, Des Moines, pleaded guilty to providing false identification information, a simple misdemeanor, for events on Feb. 11 and has paid a $105 fine, $15.75 criminal surcharge and $60 court costs.

Natasha M. Svetich Plumley, 25, Salida, California pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance-first offense (marijuana), a serious misdemeanor, for events Aug. 23, 2024. Svetich Plumley received a deferred judgment on March 4 and was placed on self-probation for one year, paying a $430 civil penalty, fees and court costs of $100 before Feb. 27, 2026.

Lashawna S. Armstrong, 20, Cedar Falls, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance-first offense (cannabidiol-illegal use), a serious misdemeanor, for events Oct. 7, 2024. Armstrong received a deferred judgment March 5 and was placed on one year of self-probation, ordered to pay a civil penalty of $430; attorney fees and court costs were waived.

Fredrick C. Walker, 53, Chandler, Arizona, pleaded guilty to open burning/burning trash, a simple misdemeanor, for events Jan. 30 and has paid in full, records state. Walker was ordered on Feb. 28 to pay a fine of $105, $15.75 surcharge and $60 court costs.

Robert E. Clark II, 36, Waterloo, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated-first offense and was sentenced to two days in a weekend diversion program. The rest of a 30-day jail sentence was suspended. Clark was placed on one year supervised probation and ordered to pay a $1,250 fine.

Gianni J. Gleason, 19, Denver, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated-first offense for events Nov. 9, 2024. In a deferred judgment filed March 4, Gleason was placed on one year self-probation and to pay a $1,250 civil penalty and $100 court costs and fees.
