WAVERLY — Nine individuals will be inducted into the Wartburg College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 19 as part of the annual Homecoming and Family Weekend festivities this fall.

Inductees are Joe Breitbach, Class of ’71, wrestling; Faith Burt, ’12, track and field; Jonas Elusme, ’14, track and field; Justin Hanson, ’09, wrestling; Tyler Hubbard, ’06, wrestling; Joe Hughes, ’03, cross country and track and field; Jordan Sathoff, ‘12, basketball and track and field; Tashina (McAllister) Steggall, ‘14, track and field; and Josh Van Den Hul, ‘12, football.

Joe Breitbach, a 1971 graduate, was a four-year member of the men’s wrestling program. He was an assistant coach with the program from 1971 to 1985. He opened Joe’s KnightHawk in March 1975 and has hosted the annual Fight Night wrestling season kickoff event for high school and college wrestling, multiple banquets, and fundraising and other social events for numerous Wartburg teams. Breitbach started Milboy’s Army in honor of longtime coach Jim Miller in 1993 to directly support the wrestling program. He has managed the annual Desert Duals wrestling competition hosted in Las Vegas since 2001. Joe and his wife, Julie, a 1973 Wartburg graduate, received the Wartburg Alumni Citation in 2012 and the Russ Smith Community Impact Award from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2015. He and Julie live in Waverly and have three adult children who all graduated from Wartburg.

Faith Burt, a 2012 graduate, was a four-year member of the track and field program. She was a member of four national-championship 1600 meter relay teams and the only 1600 m relay national championship in program history. Burt is a 16-time All-American on the track. She was named the 2010 outdoor conference MVP on the track and still holds the school record in five events. Burt won 14 individual conference championships in sprints, which includes four-straight conference titles in the 60m dash. The Knights won three indoor national championships and two outdoor national championships, and four-straight indoor and four-straight outdoor conference championships in her career. She earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors in 2012. Burt is the general manager for operations and human resources at Metropolitan Property Services and lives in Los Angeles, Calif.

Jonas Elusme, a 2014 graduate, was a four-year member of the track and field program. He was the 2011 outdoor national champion in the high jump and 2012 indoor national champion in the long jump. Elusme is a 13-time All-American in field events. He was named the indoor conference MVP in 2012 and 2014, and the outdoor conference MVP in 2013. He won 13 individual conference championships in jumps. Elusme was selected as the USTFCCCA Indoor Regional Athlete of the Year in 2012. The Knights won two indoor and two outdoor conference championships in his career. He still holds the three school records. Elusme lives in Boynton Beach, Fla.

Justin Hanson, a 2009 graduate, was a four-year member of the men’s wrestling program. He compiled a 60-12 career record. Hanson won the 2009 national championship at 165 lbs. and finished as a two-time All-American. He was the program’s first national champion at 165 lbs. The Knights won four-straight conference championships, two NWCA National Duals championships and three NCAA national championships in his career. Hanson was inducted into the IHSAA Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2020. Hanson is a credit analyst for Farmers State Bank and lives in Waverly with his wife Lauren, a 2011 Wartburg graduate, and their three children.

Tyler Hubbard, a 2006 graduate, was a four-year member of the men’s wrestling program. He compiled a 60-16 career record with four major decisions and three falls. He was the 2006 national champion at 125 lbs. and finished as a two-time All-American. Hubbard was the 2005 and 2006 conference champion at 133 lbs. The Knights won four-straight conference championships, three NWCA National Duals Championships and three NCAA national championships in his career. He is a manager with I-70 Auto Service and lives in Lee’s Summit, Mo.

Joe Hughes, a 2003 graduate, was on the cross country and track and field teams. He earned All-American honors in cross country at the 2001 national championships and also in track in the distance medley relay in 2001 and the steeplechase in 2003. Hughes is a three-time All-Region finisher and three-time All-Conference finisher in cross country. He is a two-time conference champion in the steeplechase and won the indoor 1500 in 2002. Hughes earned two Academic All-Conference honors and was named USTFCCCA All-Academic in 2001 and CoSIDA Academic All-District in 2003. He is the vice president for sales and marketing with Navigate Homes and lives in Coralville with his wife, Andrea, and their three children.

Jordan Sathoff, a 2012 graduate, was a member of the men’s basketball and track and field programs. In basketball, he scored 1,519 points, had 677 rebounds, 63 assists, 111 blocks and 70 steals. He still ranks first on the career leader list in blocks, fourth in points, sixth in field goals, and eighth in rebounds and free throws. He also owns the season record in blocks. He was a three-time All-Conference selection and was a Third-team All-Region honoree his senior season. Sathoff was a jumper for track and field and won two individual conference titles in the high jump and was a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree. He is a financial adviser with LPL Financial and lives in Hillsboro with his wife, Rachael, and their two children.

Tashina (McAllister) Steggall, a 2014 graduate, was a four-year member of the track and field program. She won the 2014 national championship in the 60m hurdles and finished as a 14-time All-American on the track as a hurdler and relay team member. Steggall is the program’s only national champion in the 60m hurdles. She was named the 2013 outdoor conference MVP and the 2014 USTFCCCA Outdoor Regional Athlete of the Year. Steggall also still holds the school record in four events. She won six individual conference championships in the hurdles. The Knights won one indoor national championship and three-straight outdoor national championships, and four-straight indoor and four-straight outdoor conference championships in her career. She lives in Cedar Rapids with her husband Brandon, a 2014 Wartburg graduate, and their three children. Prior to moving to Cedar Rapids, Steggall was the associate head track and field coach at Macalester College.

Josh Van Den Hul, a 2012 graduate, was a four-year member of the football team and played defensive back and return specialist. He was named Honorable Mention All-America and First-team All-Region by in 2010. Van Den Hul was a three-time First-team All-Conference selection. He still holds the career record in kick returns and kick return yards and ranks in the top 10 of two other career categories. The Knights won two conference championships and advanced to the quarterfinals in 2008. The 2010 team recorded the third undefeated regular season in program history. He is a physical education teacher in the Sioux City Community Schools and lives in North Sioux City, S.D. with his wife, Katie, and their children.
