INDEPENDENCE – A Preconstruction Conference was recently held at Buchanan County Secondary Roads office to discuss the W-35 / Quasqueton Diagonal Boulevard overlay and Rasmussen Quarry Bridge replacement project.
The project is slated to begin April 1 at the W-40 intersection with W-35 by the Quasqueton Cemetery and proceed north to D-22 by Wilson Cemetery. The first step will be final surveys.
A concurrent project will be the Rasmussen Quarry Bridge replacement scheduled for April through June.
Signage will be set up soon with detour information. Residents along the route will be notified as local detours are implemented.
The entire project should be done by mid-October.
In addition, starting Monday, March 17 the W-45 (Buffalo Creek Boulevard) bridge over Highway 20 will be down to one lane as it will be under construction for a new overlay. Traffic signal lights will be setup. The project should last 6-8 weeks.
