INDEPENDENCE – Thanks to community donations, Toys For Tots, Buchanan County Salvation Army, and the Independence Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church was full of toys, games, books, and warm clothing for Operation Threshold’s Operation Santa Claus on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Operation Santa Claus is a program of the Buchanan County Operation Threshold Outreach and serves resident families of Buchanan County. Qualifying families are eligible to “shop†for children’s gifts for their children. These gifts are available at no cost to qualifying families.
Operation Santa Claus functions solely on community support. Volunteers assist in the delivery, set up, and help distribute gifts. Operation Santa Claus involves a great deal of preparation— which is where volunteers can be of the greatest assistance. Volunteers come from various organizations in the community.
